Calloway was a great orator with a powerful voice. His voice spoke louder than others, even sometimes louder than the calls of the gods. Once upon a time the Goddess of Life, Ternia, created a large palace called Galixia. Out of pure gold dust Ternia created a King, Gorgan, his Queen Arten, and their twins, Octavia and Lumera. Both Gorgan and Arten had magnificent powers.

After watching anime for twenty-four hours straight, I didn’t just fall asleep, I crossed dimensions. My eyes finally opened, and I found myself standing in a bright city, where the sky was glowing in pastel colors and cherry blossoms fell like rain, except they gave of a faint smell bubblegum, which was amazing but a little weird. My hands were no longer human but outlined in bold black lines, my hair spiked in many different directions like lightning frozen in motion. There were dragons that flew past skyscrapers, and vending machines talked back when you asked for snacks…

On the hottest day of the entire summer, I found myself standing at my neighborhood pool, sweating so much I felt like a stick of butter melting. The deep end looked terrifying, like it went down forever but for some reason maybe heat exhaustion, maybe it’s my mind going crazy, but I convinced myself that today was the day I would conquer my fear of it.

The night had been full of noise, everyone’s sweaty backs dancing on the floor, singing happy birthday, and music that had been thumping into my chest. My best friend's birthday party felt like one of those endless nights, little did I know, later, I was about to become the first girl in history to survive space without a suit.

When my aunt arrived at my house, she handed me the dog, he is the size of my palm and all he can do was jump around like a bunny. He is so fast and can even jump so high that he hits the light every time, and it flickers leaving the light cover with a little dent that you can see when you are in the corner of the room. I keep being asked his name and I am sure his name is meant to be Carlitos, I know I am because when I sit on the couch with him, his eyes glisten as he lays down and he puts his head on top of my knee.

He's huge, he's scary, and he's hungry. He eats people as a snack and spits out their bones. Lakes look like puddles to him. Trees are small plants, and wind turbines are little fans that barely cool him down. Buildings are just little play toys, and pets look like ants on the ground. He uses big bonfires to cook his meals and has to eat 41 servings of dinner to barely fill his stomach. I am scared of him. Standing at 67 feet tall, his name is Big Mack. 

I spent the majority of last summer playing basketball in a league that was made up of twenty-four teams. The goal of this league was to win enough games to qualify for the championship game. My team, the Blue Flames had a solid season and at the end of the summer, needed one more win to get to the championship game. The obstacle in our way was to compete against the dirtiest, most unsportsmanlike team in the league, the Oregon Ogres.

Wash the car on Monday and put the rugs to dry in the blazing sun; on Tuesday wash the interior and vacuum every last speck until the metal shines; don’t allow your woman to walk on the street; let your woman cook you platanos and eat every crumb; be sure to soak your clothes after a hard day of labor; is it true that you fell asleep during Sunday mass?
